Why Work with Generali: Relief for the Unexpected

,,
To Whom It May Concern:

I would like to discuss one of the services that we offer to our vacation rental guests and why we utilize the specific vendor for this service.

My name is Bud Rivenbark and I am the Broker/Owner of Coastline Realty Vacations in Sneads Ferry, North Carolina. My Company manages and rents oceanfront homes, condominiums and townhomes on Topsail Island, NC which is in the southeastern portion of NC.

The service that I want to highlight today is travel insurance, as well as the vendor that we have chosen to partner with in offering this product.

Coastline Realty has been in business for 25 years (since 1994) and for the past 15 years we have utilized the services and products offered by Generali Global Assistance, formerly known as CSA Travel Protection. These products include travel insurance, as well as damage insurance, however, I would mainly like to discuss the travel insurance and its valuable benefits.

Travelers today have such a fast-paced life with many different types of commitments and obligations. Many of our travelers book their vacations several months in advance not knowing what unfortunate circumstance may arise that may completely change their plans. These changes can create a complete loss of all of their vacation investment unless they have added protection with travel insurance. Just a few of the circumstances that we hear consistently are: We've had a death in the family, one of our travel members has been hospitalized, our flight was delayed or, we had to evacuate due to a hurricane.

Travel insurance can provide coverage for all of the items just mentioned, but for now, I would like to speak more about hurricanes and hurricane evacuations since our area just experienced a direct landfall hit by Hurricane Florence on September 14, 2018.

As I stated earlier, we have partnered with Generali Global Assistance for 15 years and while we have seen many fully paid claims due to sickness, deaths and airline delays etc., our unfortunate visit by Hurricane Florence was the first major hurricane that really tested the travel insurance industry in this area.

During 2018, Coastline Realty had sold many travel insurance policies which were offered through Generali Global Assistance. When the hurricane hit our area in September, almost two thirds of our vacationers were insured. That left about one third without any insurance to cover their investment.

Before the storm arrived and immediately thereafter, we were contacted by our representatives from Generali Global Assistance to offer guidance and assistance for our insured vacationers. Our area was completely closed down for over two weeks after the storm passed. We were under a mandatory evacuation for three full weeks. As we started receiving phone calls from our vacationers that were either evacuated, or ones that could not come due to the evacuation, we provided them with the contact information for Generali Global Assistance to start filing their claims for losses.

After a couple of weeks, we started following up with these vacationers to make sure everything was moving forward. Each one that we contacted stated their claims were either filed or in process and they stated the insurance company had assigned them a personal contact person to help with any questions they may later have. This gave us great relief as the travel insurance part seemed to be working seamlessly for our vacationers which gave us the time we needed to work on inspecting our damaged properties and getting our business back into operation.

Each week we received a report from Generali Global Assistance on the claims that were processed and paid out. We were so happy to hear that these vacationers were being handled efficiently and most importantly, very professionally.

In April of 2019, several months after the hurricane ravaged our area, I polled all of the guests that had chosen the travel insurance that we offered through Generali Global Assistance. They were asked several questions such as:

  1.  Were you paid for your losses -All of them said - yes.
  2.  Were you pleased with the service offered during the claims process- all of them said yes and most expanded on it and said the process was simple and the representative was very professional.
  3.  Were you pleased overall with Generali Global Assistance - all said - yes
  4.  Would you purchase travel insurance again for another trip -100% said absolutely and most said they would purchase it for every trip from now on.
  5.  Would you recommend Generali Global Assistance Travel insurance -100% of them said -yes.

One third of our guest chose not to be insured so that group lost all their investment, and needless to say, they were very upset knowing it was offered to them and they declined. In speaking with most of these individuals, they stated they will definitely purchase travel insurance for their next trip.

In looking at our past 15 years with Generali Global Assistance (formerly known as CSA Travel Protection) and all the claims they have paid out to our vacationers, I have to say we are absolutely 100% satisfied with the product, service and support offered by Generali Global Assistance. And for the most recent hurricane, Generali Global Assistance with the product and services they offer, really lived up to all its claims. Coastline Realty is proud to offer the products and services of Generali Global Assistance and is even more committed to a continued long-term business relationship with this Company.

If you are looking for an insurance product that you can offer with confidence and a company that will offer you great service and support, you need not look any further than Generali Global Assistance.

Thank you for your time.
